what.kind.of.skills.do.wraiths.have?

The skill every wraith comes with, Avenger, embodies everything wraiths stand for: speed, and a little bit of luck. The wraith charges at their foe in an intimidating fury of slashes, ultimately producing a single weak hit. However, if the opponent is caught off guard with this hit, a second slash follows, doing incredible damage. This second strike occurs roughly half the time, so using this particular skill is a gamble.

The first trick wraiths learn is Vanish. Dropping a small smoke bomb, the wraith seems to vanish in a puff of smoke, making them almost undetectable until their next move. However, the more this skill is used, the more likely it is it will fail.

Adding to the wraith's defensive arsenal, they then learn the skill Countercut. This braces the wraith to be attacked. If an incoming attack misses, the wraith then counter-attacks to hit their opponent off-guard. This particular skill bypasses any defenses their attacker has going for them, but also only works if the wraith is attacked. This is a vital skill if a wraith is your last remaining party member.

Diversion is the next trick wraiths have up their sleeves. Using a little magic, they create a copy of themselves that mimics every move they make. This is to confuse the enemy as to which of the two is the real wraith. However, if the diversion is attacked, it is immediately destroyed, foiling the ruse.

After diversion, Wraiths really begin to develop their offensive potential, starting with Pressure Point. This powerful skill will always deal damage as long as it connects, ignoring all defense gains the opponent has. In many ways it is like Countercut, however it does not require the wraith to be attacked to use. Pressure Point is not as strong as countercut, though.

These are only the first five skills wraiths learn. The next half will be revealed at a later date: stay tuned!
