what.is.astral.water?

Like the legends of a fountain of youth, the prospect of a life-giving water have permeated into the world of end.earth as well. However, their stories are supported by truth. While their world may not be as technologically advanced as ours, the prospect of resurrecting the dead and magic are commonplace. Elixirs that revive those on their last breath are sold by common merchants. While these often have unwanted side effects, such as severe illness, they still get the job done.

Astral Water is one such magical liquid, however it is not so easily found. Legends trace its origins to the hidden Astral Springs. While many search for these legendary grounds, tales of ages gone by state that only those with good intent may locate the springs, baring anyone who wishes to find them and share the knowledge with the world.

At such springs, this legendary water is abundant, but its difficulty in transportation prove to be another barrier. While it does restore life on the righteous, it dissolves anything unworthy. Any material made outside of the springs themselves cannot contain the water without being destroyed. Several respected figures in the world's history have been found in possession of ornate vials said to be gifts from the Astral Spring spirits.

So why would one go through the excessive trouble to obtain Astral Water? Simply put, it is one of the most versatile and powerful substances known to man. First and for most, it completely revives a person, living or dead, to full health. Those that are resurrected by it do not suffer from ailments caused by other revival medicines. However, it also doubles as a weapon. Since those that are worthy of its possession are incredibly rare, there is a high probability that one splash of this water will destroy an enemy. Other curious uses include aiding in the production of powerful medicinal herbs or refining top-quality gemstones. Some legends say it can even transform dirt into diamonds.
