Vyrrm are creatures told of in legends. They can be grouped in four types, corresponding the the four different schools of magic: ice, fire, shock and wind. Essentially, they are elemental spirits. Ancient texts list that they travel by levitation, can cast powerful magic, and can choose to be invisible to mortal eyes.
It is said that long ago, humans and vyrrm coexisted in harmony, and that our current understanding and mastery of magic is completely based off of the teachings of the vyrrm. However, as years went by, they became a less common sight. As they became rarer, man grew more aggressive- peace seemed to had vanished with them. The last recorded sight of a vyrrm was the day before a great war broke out.
It has been 500 years since that war. The vyrrm have become the stuff of fairy tales to most. However, the occasional traveler returns to his village, claiming to have seen one of these creatures. There are a few priests across the land that reach out to these legends, however there hasn't been a publicly accounted sighting in ages.
Perhaps they are extinct?
