Bruce:
- -20 STR
- +15 DEF
- +5 RES
Jill:
- -25 DEF
- -10 END
- +20 WIS
- +15 AGI (SPD)
Bruce is in the privileged position of having the 100 END stat, and this is his most defining feature from the gameplay perspective. This puts him in a better position to play a more defensive role. Previously, both infighters were given the same STR stats because offense was their designated role. But when I had created skills that I was happy with, the IF class was one that could wear many hats. Most surprising of the roles, a supportive character.
If a part wants to use an infighter primarily as a support character, their options were bruce, who had a ton of HP but not a lot of defense, or Jill who had much more defense at the cost of only slightly less health. Since she also had the same strength stats, Jill was all-around the better of the two. Her weakness was originally designed to be very low magic resistance, however it ended up being only 5 less than Bruce's.
To make the differences between the two characters more profound, I started building Jill around being exclusively offensive. The primary offensive stats for a physical class are STR, AGI, and WIS. Since I was quite content with the 90 marker on STR, I fiddled with numbers on AGI first. I settled on 75 to leave Jill just slower than both of the wraiths, but only by a little (and nothing that can't be fixed with a focus board). To do this, I took some points from defense. Afterwards, I lowered her endurance to make Bruce stand out some more. I took some more from DEF and reapplied them into wisdom, which will let her use offensive skills more frequently.
After these changes, I tweaked Bruce a bit. Similar to Jill's strength dilemma, I didn't want to raise his resistance too much, but 5 more points didn't break the infighter mold too much, and helped him stand out defensively contrasted with Jill. His strength took a hit to bolster his defenses.
Toshi:
- +10 STR
- -10 WIS
It may not look like much, but it does play a large part in making Toshi a significantly more powerful offensive wraith. A difference of only 10 was not enough to justify considering Karina the defense/support wraith option. Since most of a wraith's damage output is based on scoring critical hits, differences in power were going to manifest themselves on very different scales from the other weapon classes. I ended up taking the points from wisdom, so both Toshi and Karina have the same amount of mana available to them.
