Those who live in Patrimony Forest rarely need to rely on weapons to defend their home from those bearing ill-will. They are masters of psychological warfare, preferring to scare people away and let them live to tell the tale than to cut them down on the spot. This strategy has worked particularly well for hundreds of years, as these sprawling woodlands are the last remaining unmapped territory in the land.
Though unmapped, the wraiths themselves are never lost. Through a group effort, the various tribes keep a constant watch on everything that happens using a network of Trackers.
Trackers are individuals gifted with high movement speed and endurance to match. They spend their days running through the forest in constantly changing paths, and leave discrete landmarks to indicate a variety of things. In many ways they are scouts in this respect, however they also serve as a front line against threats, scaring intruders out of proceeding into the woods.
Karina has been a tracker for several years now, and already has become quite a name within the community. Every year, a contest of skill is held between the trackers of Patrimony. As the sun is blotted out by Metis during the eclipse festival, the start of a dangerous game of hide-and-seek begins. The only rules are to never stop moving, and never get caught. Each tracker is given one ring of cloth to "tag" another tracker with. The last untagged tracker is given the title of Master Tracker- a name Karina has held for two years.
