Born to a family of blacksmiths and raised in the coastal city of Ketheridge, John is a humble individual. While he valiantly serves as a city guard, defending against the Nox that find their way past Ketheridge's signature overgrown walls, he has never been a wealthy or widely recognized figure. He is a face without a name, and perhaps this is what John prefers.Ketheridge is a very old city. Though it was once unified, the great war split its denizens into two distinct castes determined by wealth. Members of the upper class lead very protected lives, living in the inner-city citadels protected by knights in shining armor. Though well-outfitted and rigorously trained, these knights rarely see combat. They merely serve as a constant reminder of the social divide. It is the lower class that does most of the guarding duties, serving as a front line against Nox attacks, wearing ragtag, homemade armor. This is the lifestyle from which John comes from- a league of warriors often given the label "expendable".
He is a self-taught swordsman, and while his combat style isn't formal or organized in any way, he makes sure he gets the job done with his tremendous strength. In many ways he is a gentle giant, preferring words to weapons and compromise to contest. However when things get violent, John isn't an enemy easily downed.
