Raycasters are the magic-casters that manipulate the field, their enemies as well as their allies to defeat their opponents. While they do have incredible offensive powers, they also have trickery that requires tactical execution. Every raycaster comes with two skills: Energy Shift and Raystorm.

Energy shift is the skill that defines what raycasters do: they manipulate their surroundings to gain an advantage. The receiver of this skill is imbued with one of the four elements, and subsequent attacks will deal elemental damage and may induce a status effect depending on the element. When used on allies, it can also neutralize any previous enchantment effects.
Not only can this be used on enemies to force them into dealing less damage to your elementally armored allies, it can also be used to take advantage of your opponent's armor.
Outside of battle, this skill is set to a default element, and is cast on the raycasters themselves at the start of battle. Raycasters must always deal elemental damage.
The other skill raycasters come with is Raystorm. Firing a fury of weak magic bolts that bypass defenses, it serves to hit opponents with incredibly high avoid. More chances to deal damage are best when fighting these kinds of foes, regardless of the strength of the hit. It should be noted that since these bolts are weak in strength, they cannot induce status effects.
The first spell raycasters learn as they level is Mana Barrier. This skill surrounds its target in an elemental barrier that deals damage to all attackers. In addition, the barrier can induce status effects. A strategic use for this skill would be to cast it on an ally who is guarding. Since they will receive the attacks targeted at both themselves and whoever they're guarding, the barrier will hit twice as many opponents. After mana barrier, two twin skills are learned: Afflict and Alleviate. Afflict has a high chance of inflicting a status condition on a target in addition to dealing damage, while Alleviate cures allies of status conditions.
More information on these wizards will be available in the future.
