Adepts have the potential to be the most powerful class in end.earth, however they require a bit of strategy and time to reach such status. It's all a careful balance of energy gain and loss, and careful teamwork with your allies.
Adepts, like all magic users, come with two abilities. The first of these standard skills is Charge.Under normal circumstances, adepts gain one unit of energy every turn. However, if you need large amounts of energy, fast, using the skill "charge" will add an additional unit of energy to their resources.
The other basic skill Adepts have is probably their most useful- Pulse. It uses a bit of energy, and deals damage to one target based on the adept's energy level.
After much training with their two core abilities, adepts master a third ability: Spirit Wave. This attack is similar to pulse, however it damages all enemy targets at the same time, as opposed to just one. It is, however, weaker than pulse.
If charge alone isn't enough to accelerate the energy-concentration process, adepts then gain two skills to their arsenal: Kinetic Shield and Aural Shield. Both of these skills work in a similar fashion: Whenever the adept takes damage, they absorb some of the impact and convert it to stored energy. Kinetic Shield only works properly if the adept is hit with a physical attack, while Aural Shield only works when taking magical damage. These effects only last several rounds, and cannot both exist simultaneously. With clever mind games, however, this shouldn't be a huge problem.
