As a general rule of thumb, an important part of combat is having a weapon to fight with, infighters being an obvious exception. For most classes, this isn't a problem. However, with the wildly unpredictable and lightning-fast wraiths, keeping track of your weapons can become an issue.Whenever a wraith attacks, they have a chance of losing their grip on their knives. This chance lowers as they level up, but is ever-present. Some of their more powerful skills require the loss of a knife, as well. Depending on the quality of their equipment, wraiths can carry anywhere between 5 and 12 daggers.
Once all of a wraith's knives are lost, they switch weaponry over to their katanas. While they cannot be lost or dropped, the katanas slow down the wraith and deal much less damage than their daggers. Lower speed means lower avoidability, which is a wraith's excuse for defenses.
Regardless of how many knives are lost during a battle, they are all recovered at its conclusion.
