You're up against a foe unlike any other you've ever faced, and it is on it's last limbs. Suddenly, it unleashes a devastating attack that wipes out two of your three party members, and the third is just barely hanging in there. It seems all hope is gone: you would need a miracle to come back from this! Without warning, your last remaining fighter rushes in to attack, using two consecutive skills in one turn, scoring a critical hit in the process!
If this scenario occurs during your adventures, it will probably be the work of the adrenaline meter. When things start looking bad for your party, it begins to power up. Taking damage, losing allies or missing with attacks are just a few of the things that can pump it up. Once it is completely filled, players are given several bonus options to choose from, including, but not limited to:
- Fury Attack: When using skills, characters may repeat the skill twice in succession, without extra MP cost.
- Invigorate: Sharply increases the critical hit chance of all party members
- Speed Boost: Increases the speed and avoidability of all party members
- Team Attack: If all three allies are able to fight, they attack together in a fury of magic, blades and fists, destroying any foes in their way.
Know that at the beginning of battles, the adrenaline meter is empty, and it can take quite a bit of time for it to work up to the point where you can get an added effect. However, it will definitely show up in boss battles and online multiplayer matches.
