A character can only go so far with their own natural prowess before the weaponry they use becomes vital to improving their abilities. Weapons and armor in end.earth can be vastly improved by local blacksmiths, however mastering the art of upgrading your gear takes a lot of know how and a bit of luck.First and foremost, it is vital to know that upgrading your gear is a layered process. In total, there are three layers of upgrades: The forge, the coat, and the tempering. Once a new layer has been added, you cannot alter the layers below it unless you remove the layers above it. An easy way to imagine this is a stack of dice. If you want to alter the bottom die's value, you must remove the other dice on top of it or they will fall off anyway.
Today I will discuss the first layer: the forge.
As you journey through end.earth, you will undoubtedly come across chunks of metal that seem relatively useless- take them to a blacksmith. For a small fee, they can pound that metal into your weapons or armor and increase their attack or armor stats. If a weapon has already been forged with a metal, the previous metal must be removed (again, for a small fee) before any changes can be made. As a rule of thumb, the harder the metal, the stronger the enhancements are.
But wait, there's more! In addition to the basic kinds of metals you might find, there are also minerals that can be mixed in when forging to make the metal forge even stronger. Consult your local blacksmith for more information.
