what.is.attack.priority?

Now that you know a bit about some of the various characters to choose from in end.earth, you may be wondering how important their differences are. Combat in end.earth is very deep once examined- today we're taking a look at priority.

When attacking, the standard damage formula is something along the lines of...

(Total Attack Power) - (Enemy Defenses)

While this applies to most situations, various skills break this down into smaller parts. For example, most skills tack on a bonus percent multiplier to the damage that a character would normally deal. This makes the formula a bit more complex:

(Strength/Magic Stat + Weapon Power + Skill Bonus)
 -
(Enemy Defense Stat + Enemy Armor)

This is still rather simple, though. This is where priority comes in. Each potential hit of an attack is marked with a priority number: the lower the number, the more damage that hit can do. This has to deal with when damage is calculated and how the enemy defense factors in.
  1. (Attack Power) -> (Skill Bonus) -> (Enemy Defense Stat) -> (Enemy Armor)
  2. (Attack Power) -> (Enemy Defense Stat) -> (Skill Bonus) -> (Enemy Armor)
  3. (Enemy Defense Stat) -> (Attack Power) -> (Skill Bonus) -> (Enemy Armor)
  4. (Attack Power) -> (Enemy Defense Stat) -> (Enemy Armor) -> (Skill Bonus)
  5. (Enemy Defense Stat) -> (Attack Power) -> (Enemy Armor) -> (Skill Bonus)
  6. (Enemy Defense Stat) -> (Enemy Armor) -> (Attack Power) -> (Skill Bonus)
Standard attacks are always priority 6. You should keep in mind that certain attacks transcend priority- it all depends on the skills being used.
